Running For CitySprouts: Isabella
Caele Panares, Communications and Development Manager
The Cambridge Half Marathon and 5K is happening this fall, and we are so excited to be a part of it! One of our runners, Isabella Ferraiuolo, is running the half-marathon in support of CitySprouts.
Isabella is a current student at Northeastern University studying Landscape Architecture and Environmental Science. Isabella was inspired to go into a Landscape Architecture program after spending time abroad in Italy and admiring the beautiful gardens. She currently works at the Northeastern Arboretum on a co-op and is enjoying learning more about biodiversity outreach, educational resources, and working on improving the arboretum in general.
Isabella decided to fundraise for CitySprouts because of her love of nature and because of her younger sister, who is in kindergarten. Her mission of educating younger kids on the environment and getting them excited about gardens as a whole is very personal to her. Isabella’s mother is also a biologist who recently got into gardening and spends time teaching her children STEM lessons and about seeds.
“With a younger sister in elementary school, supporting organizations like CitySprouts feels especially meaningful as every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and connect with nature.”
Her positive energy and enthusiasm are extremely infectious, and she’s looking forward to volunteering and running for gardens, kids, and a healthier Cambridge!
“I’m running the Cambridge Half Marathon to help bring more gardens and green learning spaces to kids right here in Cambridge!”
