Growing a Greener Future:
Boston Area School Garden Conference 2026

CitySprouts is proud to host our third annual Boston Area School Garden Conference!

You are invited to join a cohort of local educators, gardeners, and administrators as we:

  • Build the greater Boston school gardening community

  • Share best practices for teaching students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in the garden

  • Explore curriculum and lesson models from garden education experts

  • Discuss how to create a greener future for youth in underserved, overpaved communities AND

  • Commune over food and (lots of) coffee!

Breakfast and lunch will be provided during a day full of panel discussions, presentations, interactive workshops, and more. We can't wait to see you there!

LUNCH will provided through the generous support of LIFE ALIVE. Check out their energizing meals and beverages at locations across the Greater Boston area, including one in Central Square, the site of City Sprouts' office!

NEW: Agenda Update

We are excited to welcome Maria Khwaja of Salem State University for a keynote presentation, “Culturally Sustaining Work in the Garden: Finding Connection in the Soil.”

Workshops will include:

  • Bees for kids

  • No-kitchen cooking

  • Garden science lesson demos

  • Aligning programs to students’ ages and needs

  • How to plan and lead a PLANTING PARTY!

  • How to design a garden to match your learning objectives

Location: 100 Putnam Avenue, Cambridge, MA (Putnam Avenue Upper School)

COST: To help offset costs for venue space, food, and other expenses, this year we are asking for a $25 registration fee. If you are unable to afford this fee please select the "Supported Registration" option in the registration page.
