CitySprouts uses volunteering as a way to bring the school community, families, and community members together to create vibrant learning gardens for children. Through volunteering, CitySprouts invites individuals and groups to help create a world where every child grows up with a garden to explore and learn in. Volunteers contribute to our mission at all skill levels, in the gardens, at the office, or elsewhere.

We gladly organize projects at one or more of our sites for our corporate sponsors. We recognize that hosting a group in the garden gives our corporate partners a chance to see the impact of their sponsorship, and we appreciate the positive difference their volunteer contribution makes.
From helping press apple cider in the fall to waking up the school gardens in the spring, CitySprouts relies on volunteers who are willing to lend a hand. See below for a list of our seasonal opportunities.
From October 10 to November 9 CitySprouts presses apple cider at all of our schools. We need volunteers to help set up, press cider with classes, and clean up. There are available shifts in Boston and Cambridge, each school day, for 1-3 hour blocks. A CORI background check is required to volunteer with students. More Information.
Join an event committee for Dig It! 2019. Do you have a knack for decorations, soliciting auction items, or getting the word out? We would love your help.
Help us wake up the gardens in the spring! We will have revitalization projects at various school gardens from 9am-12pm. Depending on availability we can accommodate smaller groups of five. Contact us for the seasonal schedule. More information.
CitySprouts relies on the help of skilled garden volunteers to help keep our partner schools' gardens growing and thriving through the summer months. The Garden Volunteer commits to caring for a specific garden during some or all of the summer by watering, weeding, and harvesting. More Information.
