Every spring CitySprouts holds a benefit for CitySprouts programs. Dig It brings together families, school partners, sponsors and friends to celebrate CitySprouts and raise funds to keep programs growing strong in the coming year.

At Dig It, we present the CitySprouts Environmental and Community Impact Award to someone who has made significant contributions in our program focus areas. We thank our many sponsors and enjoy excellent food and drink from some of the finest chefs in the Boston area. We raise funds from our silent auction and donations. And youth from our Middle School Program inspire us with what they’re passionate about in food and environmental systems.

Dig It! Environmental & Community Impact Award Honorees

Chef and author Ana Sortun and youth advocate, community organizer and author Mel King. At CitySprouts inaugural event in 2011 we honored two amazing people who represent the two elements that make up CitySprouts' vision: ensuring that all children have access to impactful, hands-on learning in nature, and healthy food & sustainable agriculture.

“The experience CitySprouts brings to our communities is invaluable-- kids are our future food providers, chefs, food buyers, growers and eaters! Their knowledge of how the garden works will be a part of their lives forever.”
Ana Sortun
